Webfont License Agreement

This Webfont License Agreement (the "Agreement") is a legal agreement between you (the "Licensee") and The Northern Block Ltd (the "Licensor") for the use of font software ("Font Software") on a website.

By downloading, installing, or using the Font Software, you agree to the terms and conditions of this Agreement. If you do not agree with these terms, you are not permitted to use the Font Software.

1. Number of Users

The Font Software is licensed for use on a single website. You may use the font on your website or web application for up to 5 domains. For additional domains or subdomains, an additional license must be purchased.

2. Acceptable Uses

The Font Software may be used for the following purposes:

  • Web Use: You may use the font on your website or web applications via webfont technologies such as @font-face, sIFR, or Cufón.

  • Website Text: The font can be used for text content, headers, body text, and other textual elements on your website.

  • Public Websites: You can use the font on websites that are publicly accessible.

3. Unacceptable Uses

The Font Software may not be used for:

  • Embedded in Software: The font cannot be used in software applications, mobile apps, or video games unless a different license is purchased (e.g., OEM or App License).

  • Resale or Redistribution: The font cannot be used for resale or redistribution through web templates or in any downloadable digital products.

  • E-Commerce Products: The font cannot be embedded in digital products for sale, such as eBooks or other downloadable materials, unless a separate eBook License or App License is purchased.

4. Font Installation

The font may be hosted and used on up to 5 domains. If your website spans more than 5 domains or subdomains, you must purchase an additional license. The font must be used through webfont technologies (such as @font-face) and may not be embedded in editable formats that allow users to extract or modify the font.

5. Third Party Usage

You may provide the Font Software to a web designer, developer, or service provider who is working on your website, as long as:

  • They use the font exclusively for your website or web application.

  • They agree to the terms of this Agreement.

  • They delete all copies of the font upon completion of the project.

You may not redistribute the Font Software to any other third parties.

6. Embedding the Font

You are permitted to embed the font on your website using webfont technologies such as @font-face, sIFR, or other similar technologies. The font must not be embedded in a way that allows users to extract or modify the font files. Embedding must be in a secure, non-editable format.

7. Modifications

The Licensee may not modify, adapt, or create derivative works based on the Font Software. However, you may use the font on your website for text styling purposes without altering the font design itself.

8. Ownership

All rights to the Font Software remain with The Northern Block Ltd. The Licensee is granted only the rights explicitly described in this Agreement. You do not acquire ownership of the Font Software itself.

9. Termination

This Agreement will automatically terminate if you fail to comply with any of its terms. Upon termination, you must immediately stop using the Font Software and delete all copies of the font from your website and any servers. If you wish to continue using the font after termination, you must purchase a new license.

10. Warranty and Liability

  • Warranty: The Licensor warrants that the Font Software will perform as expected for 30 days after installation. During this period, if any issues occur, you may contact the Licensor for support and resolution.

  • Limitation of Liability: The Licensor is not liable for any damages arising from the use of the Font Software, including lost profits or business interruptions.

11. Redistribution

You may not redistribute the Font Software in any way. The font is licensed for use on your website only and cannot be shared with others unless a third party is working on your behalf as outlined in this Agreement.

12. General Terms

  • Modifications: The Licensor reserves the right to modify the terms of this Agreement at any time. The Licensee is bound by the most current version of the Agreement.

  • Jurisdiction: This Agreement is governed by the laws of the United Kingdom.
